The Exam Room Counter Door transforms standard patient rooms into ligature-resistant, flexible behavioral health spaces. This saves healthcare providers valuable resources and construction costs. By completely covering sinks, medical cabinets, and oxygen tanks when closed, a durable steel shutter eliminates access to potentially dangerous equipment. Its innovative design places the fascia-side motor above the ceiling with the coil positioned above the medical cabinet to create a completely flat, seamless surface facing the room. With masked fasteners and a flat bottom bar, it entirely eliminates ligature points to ensure patient safety. Built with impact-resistant guides and endlocks, the curtain remains securely in place even under force. Fully compliant with ASHRAE and FGI guidelines for impact, tamper, and ligature resistance, it is the premier solution for modern healthcare facilities.

Usage

Our Exam Room Counter Doors are constructed for daily use.

Standard Materials & Finishes

Counter-Balance Shaft – Made of steel, supports curtain and contains torsion springs for assisting operation

Brackets – Steel with powder coating to match curtain

Tubes & Guides – Two piece steel guides attached to tubes that are recessed into drywall

Curtain - Interlocking roll-formed flat-faced slats made of Galvanized steel with GalvaNex™ polyester enamel finish in gray, tan, white or black.

End Locks - Riveted to the end of each slat, they are designed to ensure that the curtain is held within the guides in the event of impact.

Bottom Bar - Single angle flat bottom bar in steel with powder coating to match curtain creates a smooth transition.

Operations & Structural Requirements

Motor operation is required
Product is mounted to tubes that are recessed into the drywall along with the coil, eliminating ligature points.

With flexible 1" sealing fins, our sensing edges provide maximum protection while withstanding the elements.
