Technical Specifications & Ratings

A. Yes, we provide a range of fire doors that are UL listed with fire protection ratings of ¾-hour, 1.5-hour, 3-hour, and 4-hour.

Q. What is the typical weight of a rolling door?

A. A door's weight is dependent on its size, material, and specific model. As a reference, a standard 10' x 10' service door made from 22-gauge steel weighs roughly 600 pounds. For the precise weight of your custom door, please consult its product data sheet.

Q. Do your doors come with seismic and wind load ratings?

A. Absolutely. Our doors are available with seismic ratings and have a standard wind load resistance of 20 PSF. For projects with more demanding requirements, we offer specialized construction for higher PSF ratings and operational wind load capabilities on select products.

Q. Is it always a good idea to specify for operational wind load?

A. Not in every case. When specifying for operational wind load, you must also confirm that the surrounding building structure is engineered to manage the corresponding wind forces, not just the door itself.

Installation & Site Requirements

Q. Is it necessary to install steel supports at the header?

A. No, it is not. The guides of the rolling door are designed to bear the full weight of the header assembly.
